Between Sundays, we have a network of groups that meet called “Fellowship Groups.” Our Fellowship Groups are home-based small groups that meet regularly, beyond our Sunday gatherings, to cultivate further fellowship around God’s Word.
We see our Fellowship Groups as one way to purposefully help stir each other towards love and good deeds (Heb. 10:25). Facilitating fellowship this way can also be helpful practically with our geographical distances.
What do our studies look like?
- Study. The Spirit’s work and our growth occurs as we spend time studying and learning God’s Word together (Rom. 15:14; Col. 3:16) through Bible studies or topical/theological studies.
- Discussion. Each group typically allows for some discussion and interaction, particularly related to the study. Discussion can help people learn the material better, help participants learn how to better interpret their Bibles and help them better wrestle with the meaning, interpretation, and application of Scripture.
- Prayer. Small groups are a perfect setting to discuss needs and prayer requests and allow God's people to pray with each other and for each other.
- Food. Maybe not the most important part of our time, but an enjoyable one!
So…why small groups? They allow us, as a local church, to have a smaller and more intimate context where God’s people can better know each other, learn God’s word together, and allow for mutual care to take place.
