Cultivating Humility - Part 2
Speaker: Jason Whitley Series: Unmasking Pride and Cultivating Humility
Paul tells the Colossians church that in light of God’s salvation for them, there should be changes in their lives - part of this is putting on humility.
Humility is a character that is evident in our relationship with others; it can be exercised as we relate with others. God loves humility and seeks it out; He exalts the humble.
Truths that Characterize a Man of Humility
- A humble man is blind to his own humility.
- A humble man to looks to Christ for humility. (John 15:4; Hebrews 12:2)
- A humble man loves the Word of God. (Psalms 119: 50, 11, 25, 28, 47, 54, 105)
- A humble man depends entirely on the grace and mercy of God.
“Humility is the most difficult of all virtues to achieve; nothing dies harder than the desire to think well of self.”
- T. S. Eliot
